  • Kisun Lee, Ph.D.

    Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer

    Kisun Lee brings over 20 years of experience in power electronics and semiconductors, with a proven track record of driving growth and advancing technological development within the industry.

    As the CEO and CTO of Lucid Microsystems, Kisun is responsible for shaping the company’s strategic direction, fostering a culture of innovation, and leading its expansion into new markets. He also oversees the engineering team, guiding the technical vision and development of groundbreaking solutions. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant milestones, including new product launches, market expansions, and strategic partnerships with notable companies.

    Prior to his current role, Kisun served as Vice President of Engineering at Samsung Electronics, where he led the Mobile Division's engineering efforts. His extensive experience also includes senior engineering positions at NXP Semiconductors, Apple, OnSemi, and Intel Corporation, where he honed his expertise in semiconductor technologies and business development.

    Kisun holds a BSEE and MSEE from Seoul National University, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech's Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), where he studied under the guidance of Dr. Fred C. Lee. He holds 30 patents (issued/pending) and has published 27 papers, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing the field of power electronics.

  • Brian Kang

    Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer

    Brian Kang brings over 30 years of extensive experience in semiconductor design, foundry operations, testing, packaging, and operational management to his role as Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of Lucid Microsystems.

    Previously, Brian served as CEO of BlueDas Inc., where he exhibited exceptional strategic and operational leadership, driving significant growth and innovation. As Operations Director at Conexant Systems/Mindspeed, he oversaw critical operational functions, playing a key role in the company’s success. His tenure as Foundry General Manager at LG Semicon USA and Hynix USA highlighted his expertise in managing complex foundry operations, enhancing productivity, and optimizing processes.

    Throughout his career, Brian has consistently delivered outstanding results, leveraging his deep industry knowledge and leadership skills to foster organizational excellence and drive innovation.

    Brian holds a BSEE from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea.

  • Majid Kafi

    Sr. Vice President and GM of Advanced Computing Products

    Majid Kafi brings over 30 years of semiconductor experience to his role as Sr. Vice President and GM of Advanced Computing Products at Lucid Microsystems. He specializes in analog and power management technology, focusing on LV LucidGaN products to provide differentiated, smart, and highly efficient power solutions in the market.

    Previously, Majid served as General Manager at Intersil (Renesas), IDT (Renesas), and ON Semiconductor, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision. He also led the entire US operation as General Manager at CPS. Additionally, Majid co-founded and acted as the COO at Wandow Power, focusing on providing power solutions for traditional computing and AI markets.

    Majid holds a BSEE, MSEE, and MBA from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA.

  • Xiaowei Ren, Ph.D.

    Vice President of Engineering

    Xiaowei brings over 25 years of on-production-line technology development and management experience with a proven track record at top electronic manufacturers, including Motorola, Freescale, and NXP. She is a seasoned technologist with extensive expertise on power RF device technologies and their ICs in various applications. In addition, she has broad experience in Fab technology transfer and foundry operations. She holds 21+ patents (issued and pending) and has over 30 publications and presentations in the semiconductor industry.

    Prior to joining, Xiaowei served as Chief Technology Officer at Coolstar Technology where she consistently demonstrated leadership in driving innovation and operational excellence in the semiconductor environments.

    Xiaowei holds MSEE and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University under SRC/NSF grand as a student fellow.
